Asociación Montessori Española
The Asociación Montessori Española (AME) is a Spanish non-profit association founded in 1973 by students of Maria Montessori, Josefina Gonzalez and Carmen López Linares. The organisation has been training Montessori guides since 1975 and was made an AMI Affiliated Society in 2013. Its mission focuses on spreading the principles and methods of Montessori education, providing resources, training, and support for educators and schools that follow the Montessori approach. The association also works to ensure the quality and integrity of Montessori education throughout the country. In 2020 AME launched a pilot quality assurance program called the Programa de Garantía de Calidad Montessori, known as the PGCM for 0-3 programs in Spain. In 2022 AME signed an agreement with the American accreditation organisation the New England Association of Schools and Colleges in order to accredit 0-3 programs in their schools in Spain. Currently there are 7 schools participating in the program.
