AMI Research Threads
AMI Research Threads
This October AMI launched its new series AMI Research Threads. As part of the series, we will post a research article recommended by our Global Research Group on the first Thursday of every month.
The purpose of the series is to curate, highlight, and comment on the growing and diverse body of research on the Montessori method. We aim to share insights from international researchers, along with thought-provoking articles by our own trainers and researchers, to inspire discussion and engagement. AMI Research Threads serves as an essential resource for anyone seeking to understand how research supports the effectiveness and benefits of Maria Montessori’s educational philosophy.
In November, Louise Livingston, Head of Training at the Maria Montessori Institute, introduced the second article: the application and integrity of Montessori principles within the Dutch education system. The authors Jaap de Brouwer, Vivian Morssink-Santing, and Symen van der Zee explore how Montessori principles are implemented in Dutch primary and elementary schools.
